As far as spectroscopic analysis, those space suity guys can do that on the manned space mission I keep hearing about, right? Boy, oh boy, I'd like to see the bill for that trip. Wait. So, that's what the feds take outta my check every month! And I don't even get to go...rats.

I always found it amazing that we can determine, with a great deal of accuracy, the chemical composition of starts thousands and millions of light year away by simply filtering the light waves. I also love the concept that it would be most likely for an alien species to send any communications to us in the form of the light wave of the most abundant element in the universe--Hydrogen.
