A Cosmological Query Regarding the Nature of Galaxies and the Obervation of the "Light Smears" of the Past

Astronomers are intently studying a dusty disk around a star that is most likely the result of a collision between heavenly bodies similar in size to the Earth and the Moon.

The crazy thing is that what they are studying now is really 1,000 years old--so, in essence, all long-field space research is a study of the past. Consider that light travels at a finite speed and that we are essentially studying the synchronous motion of light waves while at the same time we are moving in relative motion around our own star.

One asks the question if it is at all possible that the "billions and billions" galaxies that we believe fill up the universe are actually just a smaller number of galaxies that have "light smears" and that what we are really observing is the same galaxies in two different locations at two different points in space and time. If this is possible, it would go a long way toward explaining the lack of abundant "dark matter" needed to hit the critical mass that allows the universe to remain at a steady state where the strong, nuclear, magnetic and gravity forces are all in perfect balance.

It is a notion at least worth entertaining.

The three diseases are Chagas disease, African sleeping sickness and leishmaniasis.

This is where we should be focusing our resources in the area of scientific healthcare research, not in producing drugs that we ingest on long-term bases (thereby filling the coffers of commercial drug companies) that only treat the symptoms.

Treating the symptoms instead of the disease is a sure sign that we are operating under a lunacy that allows some to exploit the health of others for personal gain. [Cue Bush '41 Dana Carvey voice] "That kind of subtle economic agression against the common healthcare consumer simply will not stand. It will not stand."

With research like this, we should be able to break most of our dependence away from fossil fuels in the next ten to twenty years. Then we should offer this technology to other countries at a discounted rate; doing this will break the backs of the Mid East oil cartel and we'll literally watch the Saudi wealth pool dry up and with it, their long-time funding of terrorist actitivities against the United States (the whole "keep your friends close and your enemies closer.")

I believe that President Bush will be remembered in history as one of the greatest Presidents whose tenure in office did more to set the stage and pace for global human evolution than any President before him since FDR. But the Bush family has been duped by the Saudis for nearly thirty years--I have to believe that it is ignorance and not complacency or even partnership that is the reason behind the Bush family's close ties with a country that provided 80% of the hijackers on 9/11.
